MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> MAY 2, 1994 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in Regular Session in the City <br /> Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Corbett <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Commendation Honoring the City Clerk's Office for Outstanding Service <br /> on the City Election. <br /> Mayor Corbett read a Commendation to the City Clerk's Office for <br /> staff's work during the recent election. She noted the unprecedented <br /> number of candidates and measures on the ballot and thanked the City <br /> Clerk's Office for doing work above and beyond the call of duty on the <br /> election and maintaining the efficient operation of the Office. <br /> The City Clerk thanked Debbie Dettmer and Celia Bacina for their <br /> extraordinary efforts in continuing the operations of the Clerk's <br /> Office during the election. <br /> B. Proclamation Declaring Emergency Medical Services Week, May 15-21 . <br /> The City Clerk read the Proclamation. Mayor Corbett thanked the Fire <br /> Department and noted that 90% of the calls received in San Leandro are <br /> for emergency medical services. She presented the Proclamation to Fire <br /> Chief Steve Mikinka, who introduced Jim Johnston, the Emergency Medical <br /> Services Coordinator for the Fire Department. <br /> Chief Mikinka thanked the City Council for acknowledgement of the <br /> program and noted the number of lives that have been saved in recent <br /> years through the use of defibrillation and CPR. <br />
