MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 10, 1994 <br /> *6:30 P.M. SPECIAL MEETING - City Council Chambers <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Galvan, Kerr, Loeffler, Myers, Perry, Polvorosa; <br /> Mayor Corbett <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person. The public is invited <br /> to make comments related to Agenda items at this time. <br /> A. Lou Filipovich, 15375 Laverne Drive, requested that he be permitted to <br /> speak after the Council had taken action. Mayor Corbett explained this <br /> was the time for public comments. <br /> B. Dana Johnson, 343 Farrelly Drive, spoke in opposition to Measure D and <br /> requested that the City Council vote no. He discussed programs he <br /> feels should be funded, such as busses, band, vocational training, and <br /> specific maintenance projects. He said, if the bond passes now, it <br /> will kill any chance of having a meaningful spending package. He said <br /> every resident of San Leandro should benefit through a carefully <br /> crafted program which will benefit all the schools equally. <br /> C. Lou Filipovich, spoke again regarding Measure D. He said this is a <br /> political issue and the City Council should not be involved in it. <br /> 5. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. Resolution Supporting School Bond Measure D (supports bond measure to <br /> renovate and upgrade facilities in the San Leandro Unified School <br /> District) . <br /> Council Member Loeffler moved to approve the Resolution. The motion <br /> failed due to lack of a second. <br /> Council Member Kerr said the City Council does not have sufficient <br /> information to endorse the Measure. <br />
