MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> FEBRUARY 3, 1992 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Acting City Manager Mike Oliver presented certificates to Bill Algire, <br /> Bill Silva, Bill Vizza, Pat McClellan, Rob Caughell , Nancy Hillis, <br /> Angelo Chiurato, Jim Johnston, and Rick Evans in recognition of their <br /> Tier III achievements and significant contributions to the <br /> organization. <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> A. Whitey Harder, 91 Broadmoor Boulevard, said he feels he has always come <br /> out on the short end in his dealings with the City over the last 40 <br /> years. He said City staff should be responsive to all citizens <br /> regardless of whether the citizen is right or wrong. He said there <br /> must be someone citizens can turn to when things go bad. He said each <br /> person counts for something and City staff should always be available <br /> to citizens. <br /> Mayor Karp said he appreciated Mr. Harder's attendance at the City <br /> Council Meeting. The Mayor said he has always been at Mr. Harder's <br /> beck and call and they have been friends for a number of years. He <br /> said the City Council is there to help. <br /> Council Member Glaze said the City needs to be responsive no matter who <br /> walks through the door. He said this includes the Council , Department <br /> Heads, and every employee. He said they will all help him through <br /> whatever problems he may have. He said each employee is an ambassador <br /> of the City. <br /> Council Member Polvorosa said if Mr. Harder has a problem with staff he <br /> should come see the City Council . <br /> Council Member Perry said, in this City, the citizen is the customer. <br />
