MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> AUGUST 17, 1992 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall' on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Faria, Kerr, Perry, Polvorosa; Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: Council Members Corbett and Myers <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> A. Presentation of Commendation to Zakee Robinson, Respiratory Care <br /> Practitioner at Humana Hospital , commending him for his heroic actions <br /> in an extremely dangerous emergency rescue of an accident victim who <br /> had fallen under a BART train. <br /> Mayor Karp made the presentation to Zakee Robinson and commended him <br /> for his quick action and heroism. <br /> Doris Porth, Humana Hospital and Past President of the San Leandro <br /> Chamber of Commerce, said she is proud of Mr. Robinson. She said he is <br /> an example of what health care is all about and that, no matter where <br /> they are, health-care workers are always on the job. <br /> B. Presentation of Certificates of Commendation to Youth Advisory <br /> Commission Members Brian Bissell , District 4; Caren Bonnet, District 6; <br /> Joe Nguyen, At Large (District 3) ; and Clayton Yeung, District 1 . <br /> Mayor Karp noted there are four out-going members of the Youth Advisory <br /> Commission. He commended Brian Bissell for his work on the Commission <br /> and said Mr. Bissell was a leader and he would not be surprised to see <br /> him come back as a senator, congressman, or, perhaps, even President. <br /> He said Mr. Bissell has done a marvelous job of leadership and is <br /> extremely active in school and in the community. <br /> He said Clayton Yeung is involved in many activities. He said he has <br /> been particularly helpful at the Library and that he just wants to be <br /> involved in the community. It was noted that Mr. Yeung will be <br /> attending UCLA. <br /> Mayor Karp said Joe Nguyen has been active in the community and on the <br /> Commission and congratulated him on his hard work and effort. <br />
