MINUTES <br /> SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> DECEMBER 2, 1991 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. , Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG <br /> 3. ROLL CALL <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> 4. PRESENTATIONS <br /> None <br /> 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> A. Al Rosenga, 534 Parrott Street, spoke regarding the Community <br /> Preservation Ordinance. He said the City Council should consider <br /> adopting the Ordinance now and asking for volunteer help in <br /> enforcement. He said, when considering the financial plan, the City <br /> Council should fund this activity over other activities. <br /> B. Joe Savio, 14485 Wiley Street, extended an invitation to the City <br /> Council and their spouses, on behalf of the Bonaire Civic League, to <br /> attend the League's Christmas Pot Luck Dinner on December 13, 1991 . <br /> C. Carol Hopkins, spoke regarding the St. Mini Cab Paratransit contract. <br /> She said she and her husband run Goodwill Cab Company. She said for <br /> the last three years when emergency situations developed in the City's <br /> Paratransit Program Goodwill Cab has filled the gap and provided <br /> transportation to seniors in the community. She said this has cost <br /> Goodwill money in terms of increasing their insurance and adding <br /> telephone lines. She said she was distressed to see that the City was <br /> going to agree to a contract with St. Mini Cab. She questioned whether <br /> St. Mini Cab had its PUC approval . She said the City felt that <br /> Goodwill Cab was only selected on a part-time basis but was not <br /> selected on a full -time basis. She said St. Mini Cab was a company she <br /> brought into the City on a voluntary basis, and it is now being <br /> provided a one-cab provider contract. <br /> Mayor Karp noted that staff had requested that this item be removed <br /> from the Agenda and continued to December 17, 1991 . <br />
