San Leandro, California, January 16, 1990 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting <br /> was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Faria, Glaze, Jardin, Perry, Santos, Suchman; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> MINUTES: <br /> The minutes of the meeting of January 2, 1990 were approved as submitted. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> a. Letter from Barbara Blackford, member of planning committee for "Earth Day <br /> 1990, " April 21-22, 1990, requesting City Council recognition and promotion <br /> of Earth Day was noted. Council Member Santos noted that he had recently <br /> circulated a letter on the same subject regarding the League of California <br /> Cities' support of Earth Day. <br /> Barbara Blackford, 549 Dowling Boulevard, said that she would like the City <br /> of San Leandro to participate in Earth Day activities. The City Council <br /> asked questions about the Earth Day pledge and what type of wording would <br /> be appropriate in a Resolution supporting Earth Day. <br /> The City Council suggested that the League approach be incorporated into any <br /> such resolution. <br /> Mayor Karp formed a committee on Earth Day consisting of Council Members <br /> Glaze, Santos and Perry. On motion of Council Member Glaze, seconded by <br /> Council Member Perry and carried unanimously, this matter was referred to <br /> the committee for a recommendation. <br /> RESOLUTIONS: <br /> Dick Randall , City Manager, requested that the Resolution Accepting Work for <br /> Davis Street Soundwalls, East of Nimitz Freeway, Project No. 86-557, be removed <br /> from the City Council Agenda pending a staff report. The City Council concurred. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-5 (2628) <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WORK FOR <br /> INSTALLATION OF CURB RAMPS - PHASE II <br /> PROJECT NO. 89-8373 <br /> Introduced by Council Member Jardin who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Suchman and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Faria, Glaze, Jardin, Perry, Santos, Suchman; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br />
