San Leandro, California, August 20, 1990 <br /> The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City <br /> Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting <br /> was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Mayor Karp <br /> presiding. <br /> PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the meeting of August 6, 1990 were approved as submitted. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> a. Letters Opposing Development of Fairmont Ridge. The Mayor noted that the <br /> letters were from residents of Castro Valley and the unincorporated area of <br /> San Leandro. He said the letters were noted and would be forwarded to the <br /> Planning Commission. He also noted that a Public Hearing would be held <br /> before the Commission on this matter on Thursday, August 23, 1990. <br /> RESOLUTIONS <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-176 (2323) <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH <br /> SANTINA & THOMPSON, INC. <br /> FOR DESIGN ENGINEERING FOR <br /> O'D0NNELL PARK PROPERTY IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE 2 <br /> Introduced by Council Member Santos who moved its adoption, seconded by Council <br /> Member Perry and carried by the following called vote: <br /> AYES: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; <br /> Mayor Karp ( 7 ) <br /> NOES: None ( 0 ) <br /> ABSENT: None ( 0 ) <br /> Mayor Karp asked City Planner Martin Vitz to give a brief explanation of the <br /> following two resolutions. Mr. Vitz indicated the Resolution of Intention <br /> would be the initial step in rezoning from Industrial and Commercial - <br /> Recreation of the property generally known as Roberts Landing at the west <br /> end of Lewelling plus City-owned property, which includes the shoreline strip <br /> and all of the off-shore area to the west of the shoreline, as well as the <br /> Citation-owned and State Lands-owned properties. He described the present <br /> zoning and said the City's General Plan has indicated that this area should <br /> be zoned either Open Space, or Habitat Area, or to the extent that it is <br /> environmentally sound to do so, Residential . The purpose of this Resolution <br /> is to bring the zoning into conformance with the Zoning Code andd General <br /> Plan. He said a comprehensive plan is now being developed to include <br /> protection of the existing habitat, provision of the City's long-term site <br /> for disposal of dredged material and, to the extent that it is feasible, <br />
