A. San Leandro, California, November 19, 1990 The City Council of the City of San Leandro met in regular session in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall on the above date at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance to the flag of our country, Mayor Karp presiding. PRESENT: Council Members Corbett, Faria, Glaze, Perry, Polvorosa, Santos; Mayor Karp ABSENT: None City Manager Dick Randall , introduced Diane Henderson, Interim Principal Planner, Planning and Building Department. MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of November 5, 1990 were approved as submitted. PRESENTATIONS a. Presentation by San Leandro Golf Club of a Cellular Telephone for the Golf Course Marshal Program. John Schiavenza, President of the San Leandro Men's Golf Club, presented the cellular telephone to the City for use by Golf Course Marshals in summoning assistance on the City's golf courses. COMMUNICATIONS FROM BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS a. Letter from the Recreation and Parks Commission Recommending Renewal of the Lease Agreement with the San Leandro Boys' Club for Property Located at 401 Marina Boulevard (renewal of 25-year Lease Agreement) . Council Member Polvorosa made a motion, seconded by Council Member Santos, to approve the Resolution Approving Renewal of Lease Agreement with the San Leandro Boys' Club. The City Council asked why the agreement contained both a 25-year base lease plus a 25-year option, whether the lease contained a cancellation clause, specifically what portion of the property was involved • in the lease, and whether this lease affected the Family Services Agency lease. The City Attorney explained that the agreement did not contain any cancellation clause for the initial 25-year term, and the 25-year option would need to be negotiated. Council Member Santos withdrew his second of the motion, and introduced a substitute motion to approve the agreement subject to the inclusion of a cancellation clause. Council Member Glaze suggested that the agreement be continued to the next City Council meeting. The City Council concurred and the matter was continued to the December 17, 1990, City Council Meeting.
