City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 23, 2018 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:18-096 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.A. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />Acting City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a Resolution to Approve a Consulting Services Agreement with <br />Noll & Tam Architects for Design Services for the Mulford-Marina Branch Library, <br />Project 2018.2400; Authorizing the City Manager to Make Non-substantial <br />Revisions to the Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate and <br />Approve Individual Amendments up to 10% and Cumulative Amendments up to <br />25% of the Original Contract Amount; and Appropriating $150,000 for the project <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />This contract provides for the design, permitting, and preparation of bid documents for the <br />replacement of the Mulford-Marina Branch Library. <br />Staff recommends the following actions: <br />·Approve a Consulting Services Agreement with Noll & Tam Architects for design services <br />for the Mulford-Marina Branch Library. <br />·Authorize the City Manager to make non-substantial revisions to the agreement; <br />·Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and approve Individual Contract Amendments up <br />to 10% of the Original Contract Amount. <br />·Authorize the City Manager to negotiate and approve Cumulative Contract Amendments <br />up to 25% of the Original Contract Amount. <br />·Appropriate $150,000 for the project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City has continuously provided library services to the community since 1906 and today <br />operates a main library plus three branch libraries. The City library services are enhanced and <br />supported by the Friends of the San Leandro Library and the San Leandro Library Foundation. <br />The existing Mulford-Marina Branch Library, located at the intersection of Aurora Drive and <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 7/17/2018
