City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: September 7, 2021 <br />Staff Report <br />Agenda Section:File Number:21-476 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:8.I. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Fran Robustelli <br />City Manager <br />BY:Fran Robustelli <br />Interim City Manager <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Susan Hsieh <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:Staff Report for a City of San Leandro City Council Resolution to Approve Annual <br />Renewals for Fiscal Years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 with SirsiDynix for the <br />Library Information System for the Combined Amount of $196,659.77 (Approves <br />One Annual Renewal of $93,647.51 in Fiscal Year 2021-2022 and One Annual <br />Renewal of $93,647.51 plus up to a 10% increase in Fiscal Year 2022-2023). <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve and authorize the City Manager to execute an <br />agreement for payments to Sirsidynix of $93,647.51 in Fiscal Year 2021-2022 and $93,647.51 <br />plus up to a 10% increase in Fiscal Year 2022-2023 for renewal of the Sirsidynix software for use <br />at the Library Department. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of San Leandro has maintained an annual subscription contract with Sirsidynix for its <br />Library Information System (LIS) since 2005 and has been satisfied with their service. <br /> <br />Analysis <br /> <br />The City of San Leandro subscribes to the Sirsidynix Library Information System, which is hosted <br />by Sirsidynix and delivered over the Internet. This Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) system provides <br />all of the core applications required to maintain the Library Department’s operations, such as: <br />inventory management; account management, self-check-out, online content, and more. <br /> <br />The City is charged annually through a subscription to the various systems. In addition, the vendor <br />provides software updates and technical support.
