City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: January 18, 2022 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:22-035 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number:9.K. <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Fran Robustelli <br />City Manager <br />BY: <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council finding that there is a <br />proclaimed State of Emergency and urging that all City employees, contractors <br />and sub- contractors receive an approved COVID-19 Vaccination if they are <br />able. <br />WHEREAS, on March 4, 2020 Governor Gavin Newsom proclaimed a State of <br />Emergency in response to the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus; and <br />WHEREAS, the state of Emergency proclaimed by Governor Newsom persists; and <br />WHEREAS, since the initial proclamation of a state of emergency by the Governor the <br />highly contagious Delta and Omicron variants have emerged and resulted in continued COVID-19 <br />infections and deaths throughout the state and County; and <br />WHEREAS, the number of cases within Alameda County has continued to rise, and as of <br />January 6, 2022, there are now over 135,416 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the County <br />and 1,567 deaths; and <br />WHEREAS, the number of cases within the City of San Leandro has continued to rise, <br />and as of January 6, 2022, there are now over 8,255 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the <br />City and 106 deaths; and <br />WHEREAS, on December 8, 2021, in response to the Delta variant of COVID-19, the <br />Alameda County Health Officer issued an order for all individuals, regardless of vaccination <br />status, to wear masks when inside public spaces; and <br />WHEREAS, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) and the Alameda <br />County Department of Public Health continues to recommend physical distancing of at least 6 feet <br />from others outside of the household; and <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 1/14/2022 <br />235
