This work will complete zone-based maintenance in Council Districts 1 and 2 and <br />advance implementation of the Tree Master Plan, adopted in January 2025. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution to approve and authorize the City <br />Manager to execute Amendment No. 3 to the Non-Professional Services Agreement with West <br />Coast Arborists, Inc. in the amount of $458,890 for Citywide tree maintenance services during FY <br />2025-2026. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City entered into a Non-Professional Services Agreement with West Coast Arborists, Inc. on <br />October 1, 2022, for Citywide tree pruning, stump removal, and arborist services. The agreement <br />utilizes the pricing and terms from the City of Burlingame’s competitive solicitation conducted in <br />May 2021; this is a cooperative purchasing contract authorized by San Leandro Municipal Code <br />Section 1-6-305. <br />In January 2025, the City Council adopted the Tree Master Plan, which recommends <br />implementing a five-year, zone-based tree maintenance rotation. The City was divided into six <br />zones aligned with City Council districts, and work is planned to be completed over five years <br />contingent on available funding. <br />Analysis <br />Staff initially planned to issue a new Request for Proposals (RFP) prior to development of the FY <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 9/4/2025
