<br />MINUTES Page 18 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-March 21, 2005 <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine commented that some of the Councilmembers who are employed <br />must take vacation from their jobs to attend meetings, and she took a week's vacation from <br />her job to attend the NLC Conference in Washington, D.C. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant echoed the comments by Councilmember Starosciak regarding the <br />EBMUD Bayside Groundwater Project. She asked if the City will be preparing a response to <br />the Draft EIR. Mayor Young indicated that the City responded to the first EIR which was <br />issued a couple of years ago, and staff is reviewing the current Draft EIR. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Badger commented that he has met with concerned residents regarding the <br />notification process. He noted that this is an ongoing issue, and he wanted to make staff <br />aware that residents would like to see the 10-day notification period lengthened. Vice Mayor <br />Badger requested that the Rules and Communications Committee review the appointment of <br />Board and Commission members and clarify the timing so that appointments are not made <br />before new Councilmembers are seated. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Badger requested that tonight's meeting be adjourned in memory of Carie <br />Elizabeth Bradley, a 103 year-old San Leandro resident. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented that tonight's meeting will also be adjourned in memory of Lenore <br />Agnes Holle, who was an active member of the League of Women Voters for many years. <br /> <br />13.
