<br />MINUTES <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-June 6, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />Adrienne Miller, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, requesting the City <br />Council to ask for a review of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) to ensure the project <br />will benefit the citizens of San Leandro. <br /> <br />Polly So, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concern regarding <br />the potential health effects on San Leandro residents ofthe EBMUD project and asking the <br />Council to give the matter its attention. <br /> <br />Tiffany Cheng, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concern <br />regarding the dangers to public health and safety ofthe Bayside Groundwater Project which <br />has not been disclosed by EBMUD. <br /> <br />Tracy Myers, Secretary of Best Manor Homeowners Association, addressed the City <br />Council, expressing opposition to the EBMUD project. Ms. Myers commented regarding <br />Siempre Verde Park, noting that Recreation and Human Services Director Carolyn Knudtson <br />has been very receptive to residents' needs. Ms. Myers stated that the Best Manor HOA will <br />be sending a letter to some members ofthe Council and Ms. Knudtson regarding the overuse <br />of City parks and the resulting negative impacts on the community. <br /> <br />Chrissy Hua, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concern <br />regarding the negative health effects on her family and community ofthe EBMUD Project <br />and urging the Council to protect the residents' rights and interests. <br /> <br />Kac Weng Cheng, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concerns <br />regarding the Heron Bay HOA's response to the Draft EIR and the allegations of misconduct <br />by EBMUD. Mr. Cheng urged the City Council to hold a meeting with residents to discuss <br />the proj ect. <br /> <br />Brent Beavers, President of Best Manor Homeowners Association, addressed the City <br />Council, requesting that the Council take action or a position regarding the EBMUD project. <br />Mr. Beavers requested that the City consider locating a Trader Joe's at the Albertson's store <br />site on East 14th Street. <br /> <br />George Draper, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that <br />additional analysis ofthe EBMUD project is needed to evaluate environmental quality issues, <br />such as the impact of seismic activity on the aquifer. Mr. Draper suggested having Employee <br />of the Month John Camp work on the issue. <br /> <br />Benny Lee, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, expressing concern that the <br />City Council allowed more time for those speaking under the Public Hearings than for those <br />speaking under Public Comments. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting regarding <br />the Airport Noise Insulation Program and the increase in garbage fees. <br />
