PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Don Crawford, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding the neighbor at <br />411 Lewis Avenue who parks several vehicles for sale on the street. He commented <br />regarding the safety hazard posed by these vehicles. <br /> <br />Jerry Gamez, Castro Valley resident, addressed the City Council on behalf of his mother <br />who lives next door to the resident at 411 Lewis Avenue. Mr. Gamez noted that the problems <br />at 411 Lewis include garbage and vehicles in the neighbor's backyard. He expressed concern <br />that the neighbor does not have garbage service and parks many inoperable vehicles and <br />vehicles with expired registration tags on the street. Mr. Gamez expressed concern for the <br />safety of his mother, given the neighbor's strange behavior. <br /> <br />Scott Warner, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council regarding the neighbor at <br />411 Lewis. He provided photos to the Council illustrating the problems. He commented that <br />the neighbor parks old vehicles on the street, moving them periodically to keep them from <br />being towed. Mr. Warner expressed concern that the neighbor's garbage attracts vermin and <br />poses serious health and safety issues. He commented on the neighbor's bizarre behavior and <br />stated that he has assaulted and verbally threatened older neighbors. Mr. Warner submitted a <br />petition from 40 residents of Lewis Avenue requesting the City Council's help in addressing <br />the problems. <br /> <br />
