MINUTES Page 8 City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-October 3, 2005 were eliminated. Councilmember Starosciak pointed to the recent Bancroft Middle School grant as a good example of City-School District cooperation, and having a School District representative on the commission ensures some cohesiveness and regular communication on the commission level. Mayor Young commented that the City and School District joint ventures are largely attributable to the memoranda of understanding signed by the 17 elected officials from the City and School Districts in which they pledged to work together on joint use projects. She added that there is already representation on the commission by the members who live within the School District boundaries. . Minute Order No. 2005-044, Motion to Provide Direction to Staff Regarding Desired Changes to the Existing Policy and Ordinance. (1020/1507) The City Council directed staff to draft an ordinance to change the representation of the Recreation and Parks Commission to a nine-member commission with a member nominated from each of the six Council Member Districts and three members nominated at-large by the Mayor.
