(1020/1507) <br /> <br />The City Council rescinded action to introduce and pass to print ordinance <br />amending Article 11, Chapter 3, Title 1 of the San Leandro Municipal Code <br />by repealing Sections 1-3-1105 and 1-3-1110 relating to membership of the <br />Recreation and Parks Commission to change the two school board nominees <br />to at large nominees. <br /> <br />M/S/C Stephens and Badger. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />Ms. Williams deferred to City Manager Jermanis to report the action taken in closed <br />session regarding labor negotiations. <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis reported that the City Council met in closed session earlier this evening <br />regarding negotiations with the San Leandro Police Officers' Association (SLPOA) and <br />the San Leandro City Employees' Association/International Federation of Professional <br />and Technical Engineers, Local 21 (SLCEAlIFPTE). Mr. Jermanis reported that a <br />tentative agreement was reached with the SLPOA, and a Memorandum of <br />Understanding for a one-year contract with the SLPOA effective January 1, 2006 will <br />be presented to the City Council for its consideration. Mr. J ermanis further reported <br />that negotiations will continue with the SLCEA. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />Public Comments on Items 1l.A. and 11.B.: <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, commenting that he <br />would not make specific comments but wanted to make it known that he spoke on the items. <br /> <br />End of Public Comments on Items 11.A. and 11.B. <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant reported that in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Alameda <br />County Housing Authority provided Section 8 housing to about 30 families, and BUD <br />is reviewing the voucher program in its efforts to determine how to best support families <br />displaced by Hurricane Katrina. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented that she has a copy of a book recently written about the <br />evolution of CDBG funding which addresses the housing issue. She offered to share it <br />with members of the Council. <br /> <br />
