The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest <br />NOT <br /> listed on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Violet Lundberg, San Leandro resident, <br />addressed the City Council, commenting that <br />residents living near the MacArthur Boulevard streetscape construction have voiced <br />concerns to her regarding the lack of public notice for the project; parking overflowing into <br />the surrounding neighborhood; safety concerns for children and the elderly crossing the <br />street; increased crime; and poor project design. <br /> <br />Bryan Lucchesi, San Leandro business owner, <br />addressed the City Council, commenting <br />that he attended a project meeting several years ago. He displayed for the Council an artist’s <br />rendering of the project which did not show a median. Mr. Lucchesi commented that his <br />family offered an easement at no charge to the developer with the understanding that there <br />would be minimal obstruction to their business, and he estimated that the work took about <br />two months and cost the Lucchesi family about $40,000 in lost revenue. Mr. Lucchesi <br />requested access be created through the median from the northbound direction to the <br />Lucchesi’s driveway. <br /> <br />Cindy Lunge, San Leandro business owner, <br />addressed the City Council regarding issues <br />created by the MacArthur Boulevard streetscape improvements. Ms. Lunge commented that <br />she is circulating a petition among local residents to request the City hire a consultant to <br />assess traffic and parking needs along MacArthur Boulevard. <br /> <br />Diana Lucchesi Lunge, San Leandro business owner, <br />addressed the City Council, <br />commenting that she did not receive notice of the meetings about the project and described <br />the problems the project has caused for the businesses on MacArthur Boulevard. <br /> <br />David Lunge, San Leandro business owner, <br />addressed the City Council, commenting on <br />the traffic safety concerns created by the project. <br /> <br />Vicky Roy, San Leandro business owner, <br />addressed the City Council, questioning the <br />adequacy of City staff’s parking study and requesting an independent parking study be <br />performed. Ms. Roy asked the Council to consider creating an opening in the median <br />through which traffic could pass. <br /> <br />Harold Perez, San Leandro resident, <br />addressed the City Council, requesting a median on <br />Doolittle Drive. Mr. Perez commented regarding Eden Road, votes on fees and taxes and <br />the placement of a red zone at the corner of Marybelle and Timothy. <br /> <br />Wafaa Aborashed, Davis West Neighborhood Group, <br />addressed the City Council, <br />commenting on the noise and traffic from idling trucks at Costco, the cancellation of a <br />recent Redevelopment Advisory Committee meeting, truck traffic and diesel emissions.
