David Langon's proposal has narrow houses 35 feet high. They certainly do not
step down in height. Should this project go forward, all we could see would be the
back side of the nearby houses. The back side is a stucco wall with a tiny bathroom
window.
At the June 22 Planning Commission meeting, Commissioner W ohltmann said he
does not believe the project as proposed meets the requirements of item 2 at page 2 of
Staff's Conditions and Findings. He said he does not feel enough mitigation had been
considered or implemented, and that residents of Garden Terrace reside in San Leandro,
have made substantial investments, and are taxpayers. He said, he believed the residents
at 1599 Hays deserve as much consideration as the city can afford in looking at a new
project.
Reply would be appreciated, and should be directed to:

Malinda Jackson
President Garden Terrace HOA
1599 Hays Street Unit 401
San Leandro, CA 94577

Sincerely

.~~p/~

Virginia Eldridge

cc: City Council
Planning Commission
Elmer Penaranda
Hanson Horn
San Leandro Times
Daily Review
