Excerpt/rom the Planning Commission Meeting Minutes
Agenda No. 06-12

June 22, 2006
Page 70/7

Chair K1eebauer said she really likes the improvements to the street frontage, the arbor,
and the new designs which include porches for the units facing the common drive area.
She said she appreciates the concerns of 1599 Hays residents about their views and the
distance between the proposed development and the existing condominium complex, but
she said she believes the spaces between the structures make light available to the project.
She noted that many single-family homes, including her own, lacks views of hills. She
said her dining room looks at the driveway of her neighbors' home and the bedroom
window looks at the neighbors' bedroom window. She said San Leandro is an urban area,
and San Leandro's future for housing is in-fill projects. She said the proposed project is a
very attractive development. She said that, with the changes that have been incorporated
into the design, she favors the project.

Commissioner Perras said the proposed project is not perfect, but it is a good project
and that he likes it. He said the project will benefit the City of San Leandro.

Motion to forward PLN2005-00141 to City Council with a
recommendation of approval of the planned development, for rezone to
RM2500(PD) Residential Multi-Family, Planned Development Overlay
District; and, for the vesting tentative tract map, subject to attached
recommended conditions and findings.
(Dlugosh / Perras; 5 Ayes, 1 No - Wohltmann; 1 Absent - Reed)
Motion Passed.

Secretary Pollart advised audience members that there will be another round of
notification when the item goes to City Council.
