IS

June 9, 2006
950 Lee Avenue
San Leandro, CA 94577-2935

City of San Leandro
Planning Commission
835 East 14 Street
San Leandro, CA 94577

Dear Commissioners,

Thank you for giving Garden Terrace property owners the opportunity on June 8.
to inform you of our concerns regarding the development of the lot adjacent to our
building.
There was full agreement on our part, that the VERY BEST way to develop this
lot, is to have three new homes on the North end and a small park and playground on
the South end. The park could be for the three homeowner's cbildren and their friends
There are some children living at Garden Terrace, so perhaps they could also use the
park and playground. We. were all on the same page as to the best way to develop this
lot. There are no parks what soever in this area, .and .a park is what is needed, not six
more houses.
David Langon would still make a profit with this plan and the owners at Garden
Terrace would not take such a big loss. As I pointed out at the last meeting, some
property owners would be put in a disastrous situation with Langon's present plan.
Shouldn't the problems and losses of the Garden Terrace owners be of more concern
than the beauty of the development entrance.~
One commissioner suggested that slim trees be put beside the W2dls in back of the
houses to make a nicer appearance. For the first floor owners, of Garden Terrace this
might be some improvement. However, no trees would grow up past the first floor to
improve the view for the second and third floors.
At the January public hearing, Lester Wtlliams was in attendance and expressed
the concerns we all have about the development as it is now planned. It is too close to
our property line. The stucco walls would be ugly to look out at. The close proximity
of Ute houses would greatly darken our units. The value of our units would be greatly
tedueed. If barbecues were used, smoke would filter into our units.
Our neighbor Robert Jones is a realtor. He wrote such a nice letter, he might
hope to pick up six great listings.
Please give our concerns much thought before June 22. We badly need your
support.

Sincerely

\~)&~
\,' Virginia ~:~:~ (over)
