/b

Dear City Council Members,

RECEIVED
JUN 1 5 REC'D

I attended a planning commission meeting last week regarding a
vacant lot located at 1537 Hays Street. This lot is located next to the
condominium I own. The purposed property Mr. Langdon would like
to build is going to drop the value of my property over $100,000 as
soon as it is built. There will be 6 detached homes built on this lot.
There will be a huge stucco building facing my 5 windows in my unit.
I have 4 windows in my living room 45 inches wide and 72 inches
long. These 4 windows have 5 inches in between each window and
take up 1 whole wall in my living room. I will be facing a stucco wall
and a backyard of one of these 6 units. Who knows if the owner will
have a barking dog, clothes lines, barbeques or trash outside in their
yards? My living room is the focal point of my condo. We watch
television together, visit and entertain our friends and family. I have
another window in my son's room that faces the purposed project as
well. Mr. Langdon will make at least 750,000 dollars on each unit he
sells. I am on a limited income and can not compete with Mr.
Langdon and his million dollar company. I am asking the city council
members to please consider the factors here. I am asking you to
review the information carefully the planning commission will pass on
to you. Please consider The Garden Terrace Homeowners and what
we have to lose if this purposed project is not redesigned to better
accommodate our needs as homeowners.

I know I have been writing you emails lately complaining of other
issues at the school district. However, I feel when problems arise I
need to be vocal in expressing my concerns. I am very concerned
about protecting my investment for my family. If Mr. Langdon is
allowed to continue with this project I will not be able to sell my condo
in the next 5 years and buy a real home for my two children. My
mortgage will be more than what my property will be valued at. I
would eventually like to sell and buy a real home with a front and
back yard for my children to play in.

I moved into my first condo in January of this year. I saved every
dime I had to make this happen. I also qualified to use the City of
San Leandro's First Time Home Buyer's Program. I borrowed
$30,000 from the city and put down 3% of my own money to make
