2. Developing the public education plan outlined herein. <br />3. Hiring and maintaining on staff a Recycling coordinator dedicated no less than half-time to the <br />City, and serving as a daily point of contact with the City Recycling staff. <br />4. Informing Customers of optional and periodic services, such as Christmas tree collection, leaf <br />collection, annual cleanups, and rates for Commercial Recycling service. <br />5. Informing Customers in advance of any changes in regular service and changes in Rates. <br />6. Conducting public education programs to promote maximum participation and waste diversion <br />that are specific to Single-Family Residential Customers, Multi-Family Residential Customers, and <br />Commercial Customers. <br />7. Conducting public education programs that are specific to Recycling of specific materials, and <br />to Green Waste. <br />8. Cooperating with the City and other public and private organizations as determined by the City <br />in other waste diversion and public education activities in accordance with regional and/or local <br />implementation of the Act and the City's Source Reduction and Recycling Element (SRRE) or such <br />other programs as may be determined by the City. <br />9. Using a full range of media to promote increased diversion, including, but not limited to: bill <br />inserts; distribution of printed material with container delivery; in public buildings, and at public <br />events; school programs; and information booths at public events. All materials shall be reviewed <br />and approved by the City Representative prior to use. <br />10. All materials shall be prepared multi-lingually as mutually agreed upon. <br />C. Public Education Plan. Within six months of the Effective Date, The Contractor shall <br />submit to the City a draft public education plan that addresses in detail the specific efforts that will be to be <br />made to address the responsibilities outlined above. Each September 1, beginning with September 2001, <br />The Contractor shall submit to the City a modified plan indicating any changes in how these responsibilities <br />shall be conducted for the following calendar year. The City shall review and approve the initial and <br />updated public education plans, and may require additional activities and/or materials as may reasonably <br />be necessary to meet the objectives of this section. Should the City require the Contractor to conduct <br />activities or to develop materials, that substantially exceed those defined in an approved plan, or that the <br />Contractor can demonstrate exceed the norm far the Contractors serving adjacent cities or special districts, <br />the City shall compensate The Contractor in an amount mutually agreed upon. <br />5.3 PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE CONTRACTOR <br />A.
