Resolution No. 2006-079, Resolution Establishing a Policy Regarding the <br />Reimbursement of Expenses for City Council Members, Members of Boards and <br />Commissions, and City Employees (adopts a reimbursement policy pursuant to Local <br />Government Sunshine Bill [AB1234]). (1182) <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis provided background information on this item, noting that the <br />proposed reimbursement policy is a summary ofthe current practices ofthe City. <br /> <br />Assistant City Attorney Stuart provided an overview of the requirements of AB 1234, <br />including the adoption of a written reimbursement policy and formal ethics training. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos commented that he is interested in having conflicts of interest <br />and gift and travel restrictions covered as part of the ethics training. <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis indicated that staffwill schedule a future training for the City Council and <br />members of the City's Boards and Commissions, and Meyers Nave is certified to <br />provide the ethics training. He noted that there will also be other opportunities to <br />receive ethics training from various sources. Ms. Stuart stated that the training provided <br />by Meyers Nave includes the topics mentioned by Councilmember Santos. <br /> <br />Councilmember Badger commented that he thought the Council would receive the two- <br />hour ethics training during a work session. Mr. Jermanis asked ifit would work to have <br />the Board and Commission members included in the training at a Monday work session <br />along with the CounciL Councilmember Badger stated he had no objection to holding a <br />combined training on a Monday but noted that the Planning Commission and BZA <br />usually meet on Thursdays. <br />
