Matter of Discussion Regarding the Parking and Traffic Analysis of Land Use <br />Alternatives Report Related to the Downtown Transit Oriented Development (TaD) <br />Strategy and Second Community Meeting (provides updates to City Council and seeks <br />comments from City Council to the Downtown TaD Strategy Citizen Advisory <br />Committee and consultants). (3076) <br /> <br />Planner III Kathleen Livermore gave a PowerPoint presentation on the parking and <br />traffic analysis of the land use alternatives report related to the Downtown San Leandro <br />Transit-Oriented Development Strategy. <br /> <br />Ms. Livermore reported on the community meeting held on Saturday, September 30. <br />She noted that the meeting was well-attended, with 98 people in attendance. <br /> <br />Staff responded to questions from Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Young commented on the problem of employee parking downtown. She <br />suggested developing an employee parking lot with shuttle service provided by the Flex <br />or LINKS shuttles. Mayor Young requested a list of the proposed Bus Rapid Transit <br />stops. <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos commented that the purpose of this study should be to reduce <br />traffic in the downtown area and increase ridership on rapid transit. <br />
