<br />EXHIBIT A-I <br />DETAILS OF DESIGN <br /> <br />Consultant shall exercise due professional care so that design shall be done in accordance <br />with the California Building Standards Code with City of San Leandro amendments. <br /> <br />The scope of this contract includes all architecture and engineering services as described <br />in Exhibit A required to complete the work. No work shown on the plans or listed in the <br />specifications shall be 'design build' unless it is specifically listed herein, or approved in <br />writing by the City. <br /> <br />Unique, proprietary, or experimental designs and materials are prohibited. <br /> <br />Specification shall be CSI format. Front end specifications (section 0000 - 0999) shall <br />be prepared by the City. Consultant shall prepare all other specifications. Consultant <br />shall coordinate the work with the front end specifications prepared by the City. <br />Performance specifications are prohibited. Specifications shall be coordinated with the <br />plans. <br /> <br />This work includes preparation of a soils report that contains design recommendations. <br />Design work shall be done in accordance with the recommendations. Consultant shall <br />communicate with the soils engineer as required to clarify or understand the <br />recommendations. The soils report is not a construction document; construction <br />requirements shall be included and shown completely on the plans and in the <br />specifications. <br /> <br />The City of San Leandro has established a budget for construction of improvements as <br />described in the contract. Consultant shall be responsible for designing within the <br />budget, should estimates or bids indicate that the contingency is below 7% then the <br />contractor shall redraw the plans as required to make the estimate match the budget. <br /> <br />The City has a standard door hardware specification guideline. All work shown shall <br />conform to said guideline. <br /> <br />The City has standard plans that indicate details of construction of many site <br />improvements.
