<br />Award WPCP Effluent <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />December 1 S, 2006 <br /> <br />This projcct provides for the construction of a new trcatment building, piping, pumps, treatment <br />equipmcnt, and monitoring equipment to treat and supply 300-acre fcet per year of recycled <br />watcr to the golf course. Existing piping will bc used to dcliver the recycled water to Marina <br />Lake and Dogbone Lake. The cxisting irrigation systcms draw from these two lakes to irrigate <br />both the Marina Golf Course and the Tony Lcma Golf Course. The American Golf Company <br />has agrecd to purchase this watcr from thc City and use it for irrigation. The Statc grant will <br />covcr approximately 20% of the construction costs associated with this project. <br /> <br />The bids were opened on Dccember 11, 2006. 5 bids wcre receivcd ranging from $1,100,000.00 <br />to $1,356,369.00. JMB Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. Thc engineer's <br />cstimate for the work was $820,000.00. <br /> <br />Current City Council (Jolicy <br /> <br />. On November 18, 2002 by Resolution No. 2002-162, the City Council authorizcd filing a <br />water recycling planning grant application <br />. On October 6, 2003 by Rcsolution No. 2003-209, thc City Council approved a consulting <br />scrvices agreement with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants for preparation of the recycled water <br />project facilities planning rcport, and by Resolution No. 2003-210, approved a consulting <br />serviccs agreemcnt with Environmental Sciencc Associates for preparation of an <br />environmental rcview <br />. On January 18, 2005 by Resolution No. 2005-003, the City Council authorized filing of a <br />rccycled water construction grant <br />. On March 7, 2005 by Rcsolution No. 2005~020, the City Council adopted a Mitigated <br />Ncgative Dcclaration for the San Leandro Recycled Water Project <br />. On May 1, 2006 by Rcsolution No. 2006-044 thc City Council authorized a contractual <br />services agreement to Kenncdy/Jenks Consultants for the design ofthesc improvements <br />. On Scptember 18, 2006 by Resolution No. 2006~ 1 08, the City Council approved an <br />agreement with American Golf Corporation to purchase water for irrigation <br />. On November 6,2006 by Resolution No. 2006-117, the City Council approvcd the plans and <br />specifications and authorized the call for bids <br /> <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br /> <br />.
