CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jen11<lJ1is stated that the Engineering and Transportation Depal1ment is <br />cUlTentIy working on the redesign of Westgate Parkway and is aware of the traffic concel11S in <br />the area. Mr. Jermanis indicated the Departrnent will also be holding a selies of community <br />meetings at which residents can voice their concerns. <br /> <br />7. AMF:NDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilmembers or starf have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed Ii-om thc Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request, by filing a speaker card Plior to the <br />calling or Item 7, Amendment of Consent Calendar, the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent <br />Calendar will be considered f(w approval under one motion. <br /> <br />Public Commcnts: <br /> <br />1 tenL.~.,.n_: <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich. 15376 Laverne Drive. addressed the City Council, pointing out that he <br />would not be allowed to eonnl1ent on Item 8.8. ailer it is discussed by the City Council. Mr. <br />Filipovich stated the City Council should not hear Redevelopment Agency items on the City <br />Council agenda, He subrl1itted a document to the City Clerk for distribution to the Council <br />and the public. <br /> <br />!lQ!1.l_~_D--, <br /> <br />Francois Gallo. Chair of NAACSL, addressed the City Council regarding the developments <br />with the United Airlines terminal and expressed concern that they are directly related to the <br />rl10vement of the instrument landing system to 27 Left. Mr. Gallo expressed concern <br />regarding the noise insulation program and the avigation easement requirement. He <br />mentioned agreements between the community of Arlington Heights and O'Hare Airport and <br />bc!ween Inglewood and LAX, neither oi'whieh require avigation easements. <br /> <br />John Manuel, 13122 Neptune Drive, addressed the City Council, requesting Hem 8.D. be <br />removed 0'0111 the Consent Calendar and the selection of C. Kell-Smith as the ail1)011 noise <br />consultant be reconsidered. He requested the Council not approve the selection of C. Kell- <br />Smith and that the selection be postponed until further diseussion including the community <br />can be held. <br /> <br />Lisa Christianson, 429 Warwick Avenue, addressed the City Council, requesting the item <br />be removed from the Consent Calendar. Ms. Clllistiansoll expressed concem that the issue <br />needs to be given more serious consideration. Ms. Christianson commellted that if only 200 <br />
