Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze commented on last year's Council discussion regarding appointments <br />to intergovernmental agencies. He noted that in a recent discussion with the Mayor on <br />the committee appointments, he asked that the item be placed on tonight's agenda. Vice <br />Mayor Glaze acknowledged the Mayor's concern that the discussion on the committee <br />appointments not detract from the State or the City Address. lie noted the Mayor's <br />commitment regarding the committee appointments and his commitment to the Council <br />as the Vice Mayor to follow-through on the committee appointments which were agreed <br />to last year. Vice Mayor Glaze stated he could not stand hy while the interests of the <br />rest of the Council were suhordinated and would not stay for the State of the City <br />Address. <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine stated that she and the Mayor had spoken and that if the issue <br />revolves around her interest in an intergovernmental appointment, she and the Mayor <br />would need to meet to resolve the issue so that the cOlnmittee appointments can be <br />hrought rorward for action. Vice Mayor Glaze noted that the issue concellls the <br />intergovernmental agency positions that were agreed to be relinquished. <br /> <br />Mayor Young responded to the implication that she purposely delayed the committee <br />appointments, pointing out that she did not receive all the Council's responses in a <br />timcly manner. She stated that, as soon as she received all the responses, she compiled <br />the inforn1ation and met with the Vice Mayor. Mayor Young stated that she did not <br />want to have a major discussion on the subject on the same evening the State ofthe City <br />mcssage was delivered to the people of San Leandro. She noted that the appointments <br />are scheduled for consideration on March 15, and she has already made arrangements to <br />
