l\lINUTES Page 18 City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and San Leandro Public Financing Authority Joint Meeting-l\lay 17,2004 Property O,vners' Hearin2: Norma Smith, CNH America LLC (f/k/a Case Equipment Corporation), addressed the City Council, asking if the Council received the letter sent by her corporate office objecting to the Intention to Adopt the Resolution of Necessity for the project. She expressed concenlS regarding safety and security of elTIployees, traffic impacts and noise levels. Kate Hart, Reed Smith, addressed the City Council, stating she is representing one of the propeliy owners, Insured Transporters. Ms. Hart stated that Insured Transporters has no objection to the use of eminent domain but does have an issue with the appraisal value and will be obtaining its own appraisal. Ms. Hart commended City staff on their excellent comlTIunication and friendly and open attitude. . (1315) Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the excellent job being performed by the current Vice Mayor, Bob Glaze. He objected to the wording and position of this item on the agenda. Vice Mayor Glaze thanked the Council for allowing him to serve as vice mayor. He noted that he has never made the lTIotion to nominate the vice mayor, and there are others on the Council who deserve to be vice mayor and should be considered. He expressed his belief that the vice mayor represents the other members of the Council and should continue to be chosen by the majority of the Council.
