<br />l\HNUTES Page 4 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-September 20, 2004 <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, and without objection, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Councilnlember Grant asked whether the Dabner house will still have the lower fence. <br />Ms. Pollart confimled that it will. Councilmember Grant asked about the tandem <br />parking in the back. Ms. POllart replied that as part of the previous proposal, the <br />applicant is required to utilize the spaces. Councilmember Grant asked for clarification <br />regarding the request for darker colors. Ms. Pollart clarified that the developer was <br />asked to provide a color scheme with Inore contrast while maintaining a neutral palette. <br />Councihnember Grant pointed out a paragraph regarding windo'vvs for Building B which <br />was deleted and asked what the windows will look like. Ms. Pollart stated that the <br />windows will be as described in the previous proposal. Councilmember Grant asked <br />about the deletion of the bike rack frOln the Recomnlended Conditions of Approval. <br />Ms. Pollart noted that a bike rack was included in the modified plan and therefore was <br />mmecessary as a mitigation nleasure. <br /> <br />Councihnember Nardine commented that it is difficult to make out the details of the <br />plan fronl a photocopy. She asked if the building would blend in with the <br />MeditelTanean architectural theme of the area and emphasized the importance of <br />incorporating bike racks in future developments. Ms. Pollart described the architecture <br />of the building, which has MeditelTanean characteristics. Ms. Pollart stated that the <br />architecture of the building should fit in well with the buildings in its vicinity. <br /> <br />Mayor Young asked if, after the Fire Station building is rehabilitated, some indication <br />can be left at the site that the building was once a Fire Station. Claire Koenig, the <br />applicant, stated that pictures or plaques will be placed in the lobby to acknowledge the <br />history of the building. Ms. Koenig mentioned that the Library-Historical Commission <br />was interested in assisting with the lobby display for the building. <br /> <br />.
