Community Development Director <br />Hanson Hon1 indicated that it is the prerogative of the Council to set the Public <br />Hearing date. Councilmember Grant proposed scheduling the Public Hearing on <br />December 20, 2004. <br /> <br />. Minute Order No. 2004-037, Motion to Schedule a Public Hearing on December <br />20,2004 for the Matter of Appeal Regarding the Planning Commission's Denial of <br />PLN2003-00054; Appeal by Applicant of the Decision of the Planning Commission <br />to Deny: 1) Rezoning the Property Known as 14340 W ashington Avenue from CC <br />Community Commercial District to IL(PD) Industrial Limited, Planned <br />Development Overlay District; and 2) the Construction of a Self-Storage Facility <br />Con1prising of Approximately 80,7000 Square Feet; Assessor's Parcel Number <br />77C-1235-2-22; M. Landes, Landes Corp. (Applicant and Property <br />Owner). Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Santos reported that he attended a recent meeting of the East Bay <br />Division of the League of California Cities at which Senator Torlakson was a guest <br />speaker. Senator Torlakson mentioned introducing a bill in the State Legislature which <br />would give authority to cities to place on the ballot a $.05 per gallon gas tax to generate <br />local revenue. Counciln1ember Santos stated at the meeting that it would not be a wise <br />move at this time given the current price of gasoline. <br />
