Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />4. SAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />A. Matter of Adoption of Redevelopnlent Agency 2004-2009 Implementation Plan <br />(provides for approval of the lInplelnentation Plan for redevelopment project areas). <br /> <br />This being the tinle and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, City Manager <br />J ennanis gave an overview of the itenl and introduced Business Developnlent Manager <br />Luke Sinls. Mr. Sinls gave background on the Redeveloplnent Agency and introduced <br />Senior Developnlent Specialist Amalia Lorentz. Ms. Lorentz gave a short PowerPoint <br />presentation, giving highlights of the Plan proposed for adoption. <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the Public. <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, conlmenting on <br />redeveloPlnent and the distribution of redeveloPlnent funds, and asking how nluch it <br />costs, who pays and for how long. <br /> <br />There being no further COlnments fronl the public, and without objection, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />Councihnenlber Grant pointed to Table 5 of the report and asked if, due to the economic <br />uncertainties for redeveloplnent, the Agency will be able to accomplish the projects that <br />are outlined in the Plan. Mr. J emlanis indicated that there are proj ects which the <br />Council has previously identified, such as the West Estudillo Pedestrian COllilection and <br />the Downto\vn improvenlents that the Agency will be able to undertake. However, <br />there may not be any new initiatives for a period of time. Mr. J ermanis noted that <br />redevelopnlent funds have been set aside for housing, and staff will be coming to the <br />Business Developnlent Comnlittee with recOlnmendations for developlnent to meet the <br />City's housing obligations as contained in the Housing Elelnent. <br />
