<br />MINUTES Page 5 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-December 20, 2004 <br /> <br />Tracy Myers, San Leandro resident, addressed the City Council, thanking the City for <br />hosting the Town Hall Meeting with the City of Alameda on the proposed Indian casino. Ms. <br />Myers urged the Council to adopt a resolution opposing the casino and to consider writing a <br />letter to the editor of the San Leandro Times informing San Leandro residents about the <br />project and what the City can and cannot do to stop it. <br /> <br />Heidi Finberg, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, addressed the City Council, inviting <br />the Council to attend a forum on the proposed Indian casino which will be co-hosted by the <br />San Leandro and Alameda Chambers of Commerce on Thursday, January 6, 2005, at 6:00 <br />p.m., at a location to be determined-possibly the Oakland Hilton. Ms. Finberg cormnented <br />that the focus of the forum will be requests for infornlation regarding the impacts of the <br />proposed casino on the business community; however, residents and any other interested <br />persons are invited to attend. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jennanis wished the City Council and the community happy holidays and a <br />prosperous New Year. He expressed hopes that the next budget year will be less trying and <br />difficult than this past year has been, and he stated that he looks forward to a very successful <br />2005. <br /> <br />City Attorney Williams wished everyone happy holidays. <br /> <br />7. AMENDMENT OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Councilnlenlbers or staff have an opportunity at this time to request that an item be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar for the presentation of a staff report or other special <br />consideration. Members of the Public may request, by filing a speaker card prior to the <br />calling of Itenl 7, Anlendnlent of Consent Calendar, the opportunity to address the City <br />Council regarding items remaining on the Consent Calendar. Items remaining on the Consent <br />Calendar will be considered for approval under one motion. <br /> <br />No amendment to Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />8. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are considered for approval by the City Council with one single <br />action. As described above in Item 7, Amendnlent of Consent Calendar, the City Council <br />nlay remove items frOln the Consent Calendar for purposes of presentation or discussion. <br />Members of the public who have requested to address the Council regarding items remaining <br />on the Consent Calendar may do so for up to 3 Ininutes each to a maximum of 5 Ininutes for <br />all itenls. Itenls listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> <br />The items on the Consent Calendar were approved by the following vote: <br />
