Councilmember Grant reported <br />ACAP had $350,000 in grant funds and there were millions or dollars in requests by 14 <br />agencies. She noted there was tension at the meeting, and recommendations were made <br />to take money away that had already been comrnitted to other organizations. <br />Councilmember Grant reported Davis Street was granted about $25,000, and Alameda <br />County Housing Authority received the $40,000 they requested. <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported the Congestion Management Agency has agreed to co-sponsor a <br />walking and bicycling conference to be held in Oakland in October 2003 with the City of <br />Oakland, MTC and ACTlA. <br /> <br />Councilmember Nardine expects to be appointed Vice Chair of the Mosquito Abatement <br />District at her next meeting. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Airport Committee Meeting of December 17,2002. Accepted as Submitted. <br /> <br />2. Business Development Committee Meeting or December 12, 2002. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the <br />City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items [rom the Consent <br />Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to <br />have been read by title. <br /> <br />Item 8.A. was removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business.
