Accepted as <br />Submitted. <br /> <br />Recommendations for City Council consideration: <br /> <br />a, Schedule consideration by City Council of proposed agenda formaL <br /> <br />As Chair of the Rules and Communications Committee, Vice Mayor Glaze <br />described the proposed format, which attempts to provide ample public input <br />while making meetings progress more efficiently. A discussion ensued. <br />Councilmembers expressed interest in reviewing a draft of the new agenda format, <br />having a six-month trial period i r the new format is adopted and providing clear <br />instruction to the public regarding how to pmiicipate. <br /> <br />By the consensus of the Council, the item will be agendized for consideration <br />at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />b. Schedule Council consideration [or the following: <br />. Naming the Civic Center South Offices after Helen Lawrence <br />. Naming the boat launch at the San Leandro Marina after Wes McClure <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze gave background on this item, reporting the Committee has <br />been looking at the recognition program for almost two years, describing the <br />proposed new program and giving the Committee's rationale Jor bringing these <br />two items Jorward [or Council's consideration. <br /> <br />By the consensus of lhe Council, the item will be agendized for consideration <br />at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />c. Schedule consideration regarding setting time limits for Councilmemhers to make <br />their board and commission appointments. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Glaze reported the discussion by the Committee involved both the <br />titning of board and commission members' teml expirations, which should <br />coincide with the new Council assuming oOlce, and the timeliness in which <br />appointments are made. Vice Mayor Glaze noted that in the past, some board and <br />commission vacancies were not filled [or several months.
