<br />l\lINUTES <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-May 5, 2003 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Dan Lunsford announced the award of a $25,000 grant froIn the State to the City of <br />San Leandro for Hazard Mitigation Planning and presented the plaque to the Mayor <br />and Council from the Disaster Resistant California Committee. Mr. Lunsford noted <br />Mayor Young was the only local elected official to speak at this year's Disaster <br />Resistant California Conference in San Jose, and Councilmember Badger also <br />attended. San Leandro was one of only six cities selected this year by the State to <br />receive Hazard Mitigation Planning grants. <br /> <br />D. Presentation of Resolutions Commending Years of Service on City Boards and <br />Commissions <br /> <br />Resolution Commending Alice Chin for her Years of Service on the Planning <br />Commission. (1018) <br /> <br />Resolution Commending Joe Collier for his Years of Service on the Planning <br />Commission. (1018) <br /> <br />Resolution Commending Nat Kleinstein for his Years of Service on the Personnel <br />Relations Board. (1016) <br /> <br />Resolution Commending Al Padro for his Years of Service on the Planning <br />Commission (1018) <br /> <br />Resolution Commending Bill Perras for his Years of Service on the Recreation and <br />Parks Commission (1020) <br /> <br />Mayor Young expressed gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the entire City Council <br />for the service and contributions of the City's board and commission members. Former <br />Board and Commission Members Alice Chin, Joe Collier, Nat Kleinstein and Bill <br />Perras were present to accept their resolutions. Mayor Young noted Ann Hague, who <br />served on the Senior Commission, and Mary Bystedt, who served on the Recreation and <br />Parks Commission, were unable to attend tonight's meeting, but would also receive <br />resolutions honoring their years of service. <br /> <br />Joe Collier stated his pride of accomplishment in serving on the Planning Commission <br />for almost 17 years and expressed disappointment at being replaced and the process. <br />
