Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />Mayor Young indicated the formation of the proposed West San Leandro Shuttle <br />Business Improvement District was requested by the Transportation Management <br />Organization and was not put forward by the City Council. She noted that the Council <br />has always relied on the business community to inform the Council of its needs. <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Badger reported on the Alameda County Waste Management Authority <br />retreat he recently attended. He commented that it is good to know San Leandro is <br />considered to be at the forefront of innovative recycling efforts. <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported that the Alameda County Waste Management Authority has <br />been working for the last several months on an environmentally preferable purchasing <br />policy. The City of San Leandro will participate by committing to do everything in its <br />power to purchase environmentally friendly products. <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported that approximately 120 employers and 2,600 employees in <br />Alameda County participate in Alameda Congestion Management Agency's Guaranteed <br />Ride Home Program. <br /> <br />Mayor Young also reported that the pipeline along Lewelling being installed by <br />LA VWMA is continuing through San Lorenzo in stages. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. Business Development Committee Meeting of September 24, 2003. Accepted as <br />submitted. <br /> <br />2. City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />September 11, 2003. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br />a. Direct staff to complete an analysis of a City contract to maintain District <br />vehicles. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Council to do so. <br /> <br />3. Disaster Council Meeting of September 17, 2003. Accepted as submitted. <br />
