MINUTES Page 12 City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-October 6, 2003 4. Finance Committee Meeting of September 18, 2003. Accepted as submitted. Recommendation for City Council Consideration: a. Schedule for Council consideration the approval of a one-year extension of the contract for audit services with Caporicci and Larson for the fiscal year ended 2003-04 at a cost not to exceed $48,490. By the consensus of the Council, this item will be placed on a future Council agenda for approval. 5. Human Relations Committee Meeting of September 11, 2003. Accepted as submitted. 6. Rules and Communications Committee Meeting of September 25, 2003. Accepted as submitted. Recommendation for City Council Consideration: a. That the City not implement a ribbon placement program, but instead encourage individuals who wish to place yellow ribbons on their own property. In response to a question by Councilmember Santos, Councilmember Badger stated the Committee did not intend for the City to actively promote placement of yellow ribbons on private property. It was noted yellow ribbons were put up at the Pelton Center over the past weekend. By the consensus of the Council, a ribbon placement program will not be implemented. b. Dedication of a seat in the City Council Chambers in memory of Madge Basuino, to be recognized with a small metal plate on the back of the chair. By the consensus of the Council, it was agreed that staff will place a metal plate on the arm of a chair in the Council Chambers in memory of Madge Basuino. c. Continue the use of present City Council agenda format. It was the consensus of the Council to do so. By the consensus of the Council, discussion regarding the request from SBC to consider a resolution regarding the telecommunications industry will be placed on the agenda of November 2, 2003.
