<br />IVIINUTES Page 5 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-OCTOBER 20,2003 <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2003-218 and Resolution No. 2003-018 RDA, Joint Resolution of the <br />San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Designating a <br />Residential Parking Permit (RPP) Area on Pacific Avenue and Eveleth Avenue between <br />Castro Street and Marina Boulevard. (1022/1485) <br /> <br />The resolution was adopted with the following amendments: <br />Item 1. Delete provision for two-hour non-permit parking. <br />Item 2. Increase hours for restricted parking to seven days a week, 6:00 a.m. to <br />10:00 p.m. <br />Item 4. The Redevelopment Agency pays for first and second permits for the <br />first year with a $60 maximum per household. <br /> <br />Councihnelnber Grant inquired about the concern regarding enforcement. City <br />Manager J ermanis stated that enforcement by patrol is not likely except on a complaint <br />basis and will be handled primarily by Parking Enforcement personnel. <br /> <br />M/S/C Nardine and Santos. Matter of Request fron1 SBC to Consider Resolution Regarding the <br />TelecOlnmunications Industry (considers a resolution endorsing policies to encourage <br />reporting of investments in local telecommunications services by telecon1illunications <br />con1panies ). <br /> <br />Shiyama Rickford, SBC External Affairs Department, addressed the City Council <br />regarding the request from SBC to consider adoption of the resolution. Ms. Rickford <br />stated the purpose of the resolution is to 1) ensure all customers have a choice of <br />telecon1n1unications con1panies and that companies don't "cherry pick," serving only <br />the n10st lucrative customers; and 2) encourage all telecon1illunications companies to <br />invest in their networks, resulting in better service to customers and the creation of more <br />local jobs. <br /> <br />.
