<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council ami <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - April I, 2()()2 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br /> <br />Francois Gallo, 979 Woodland Ave., addressed the City Couneil inquiring as to <br />the nature of the proposed ehange in language [or 37.08A Expansion of the Noise <br />Compatibility Program. I-Ie asked that the City Council review the comments made <br />regarding the Port of Oakland bdore making changes. <br /> <br />Wafaa Aborashed, 672 Tudor Rd., addressed the City Council regarding the same <br />proposed language change and requested the language proposed by the Port be <br />made public for feedback before the City Council makes a decision. She <br />commented the GP AC had spcnt quite a bit of time on this issue and would not <br />want to see their eHorts undennined. <br /> <br />Tom Guarino, addressed the City Council on behalf of the Chamber Industrial <br />Roundtable and indicated they are com[ortable with the proposed language change <br />lor 37.08A by the Port of Oakland. <br /> <br />The Mayor, for the bend!t ofthe public, read the proposed language change into the <br />record. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />M/S/C Badger and Nardine. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />City Council discussion ensued regarding various aspects of the General Plan, <br />resulting in the lolIowing changes and/or issues to be discussed [urther to be <br />brought back to the City Council: <br /> <br />. Credits Page: Add Steven Meyers (City Attorney Emertus) to Stafe correct <br />spelling of Liane Randolph. (Young) <br /> <br />· Action 1.02-8 (Nuisance Ordinance): Clarify that the "Nuisance Ordinance" is <br />actually the Community Preservation Ordinance. Promote faster responses to <br />complaints. (Nardine) <br /> <br />· Policy 1.04 (Front Yards): Add language that holds landlords responsible for the <br />maintenance and appearance of rental properties. (Santos) <br /> <br />· Action 2.01-A (Paint, Awning, and Fayade Improvements): Refer to this <br />program with its new name (Commercial Rehab Program) and note that the City <br />has already strengthened. (Badger) <br /> <br />· Policy 5.04: (Consultation with housing developers) Add the school district <br />boards to the list of who should be contacted when new housing is proposed. <br />(Nardine) <br />
