Matter of Amendment to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) <br />Contract to Provide the 2.5% at 55 Retirement Benefit for Local, Miscellaneous <br />Members (San Leandro City Employees' Association/International Federation of <br />Professional and Technical Engineers, Local 21 [SLCEAJIFPTE]; San Leandro <br />Management Organization [SLMO]; Non-Represented Confidential Employees; <br />and Part-Time, Non-Represented Employees). <br /> <br />The City Manager gave a brief overview of the Amendment to the PERS Contract. <br /> <br />Public Comment: <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Dr., addressed the City Council commenting that <br />no one really knows too much about PERS. He added that agencies no longer <br />actually contribute to PERS because of how much money PERS currently has. <br /> <br />The following Resolution and Ordinance were then introduced: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-54, Resolution of Intention to Approve an Amendment <br />to Contract Between the Board of Administration of the Public Employees' <br />Retirement System and the City Council of the City of San Leandro (provides <br />for public notice of City's intent, as required by Public Employees' Retirement <br />Law, to amend the PERS contract to provide the 2.5% at 55 retirement benefit <br />for local, miscellaneous members [San Leandro City Employees' <br />Association/International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers, <br />Local 21 (SLCEAJlFPTE); San Leandro Management Organization (SLMO); <br />Non-Represented Confidential Employees; and Part-Time, Non-Represented <br />Employees).
