<br />Minutes - City of San Lcandro City Council and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -- May 6, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />D. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council about both the <br />City Attorney's role in the City and the Minutes approval process. <br /> <br />5. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />There was no report. <br /> <br />6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovenunental Agencies <br /> <br />1. Council Member Grant reported that she has becn appointed to thc Budget <br />Committee of the Alameda County Housing Commission. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Loeffler reported on his attendance at the Association of Bay <br />Area Governments (ABAG) conference in San Francisco. The agenda focused <br />on housing issues, and he suggested City Council Members review the report <br />from Redwood City that outlines what residents can realistically aHaI'd in the <br />Bay Area. Council Member Loeffler also submitted infonnation on "ABAG <br />Reflection: 'Workforce Housing-2002'" (altached and herein incorporated by <br />reference) . <br /> <br />3. Council Member Santos reported on an affordable housing progrmn Jor kachel's <br />in Santa Clara called Casa de Maestra. He said San Leandro Unified School <br />District is following up on the source of funding Jar that program. <br /> <br />Council Member Santos also mentioned that he and Eel Schilling, Assistant City <br />Manager, arc going to Sacramento next week with the League of California <br />Cities East Bay Division to lobby against our local government funding cuts due <br />to the state budget crisis. City Manager Jermanis commented on Department or <br />Motor Vehicle (DMV) license fees ancl ERAF funding that is in jeopardy. <br /> <br />4. Mayor Young reported on Alameda County Transit District's proposed <br />implementation of a bus rapid transit service. <br /> <br />Mayor Young also mentioned that the Central County Policy Committee will <br />implement the first phase of continuous bus service between the San Leandro <br />Community Library Center and the Marina Community Center by January 2003. <br />
