<br />Minutes City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />May 20, 2002 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-75, Resolution Designating Authorized Agent for City <br />California Earthquake Safety and Building Rehabilitation Bond Act of 1990. <br />( 1369/2(48) <br /> <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Santos. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />A. Matter of Adoption of Resolutions and Ordinances Pertaining to the November 5, <br />2002, General Municipal Election. <br /> <br />Mayor Young asked for clarification on the runoff election process, questioning <br />whether a candidate who is elected directly can assurne office in January or has to <br />wait until March. <br /> <br />City Clerk Petersen advised the Rules & Communications Committee previously <br />held a discussion regarding the seating of new Council Mernbers at the same time. <br />Since none of the resolutions or ordinances on this agenda address when Council <br />Members will be seated, the City Clerk indicated she will report back to the Council <br />on this issue at a later date. <br /> <br />The following Resolutions and Ordinances were then introduced: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002-76, Resolution Providing for the Holding of a General <br />Municipal Election [or the Election or a Mayor and Three City Council <br />Members; Providing Notice of Election on thc 5th Day of November, 2002, and <br />Directing That Said Notice Be Given; and Requesting That the Alameda County <br />Board of Supcrvisors Permit the Consolidation of Said Municipal Election with <br />the Statewide General Election to Be Held on November 5,2002. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 2002-08, An Ordinance Establishing Nomination Procedures <br />lor the November 5,2002, General Municipal Election.
