CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />City Manager Jernlanis responded to the comment regarding the minutes of the City Council <br />meeting of November 4, 2002, noting at the Council's request a verbatim transcript of the <br />public hearing is being prcpared. Mr. Jermanis gave assurances there will be no changes to <br />the Council's instructions regarding the development of the Bayside Business Park. City <br />Manager Jermanis noted sections of the motion contain long-tenn policy issues, some not <br />directly related to the project, which staffwill bring back to Council for further direction. <br /> <br />City Manager Jermanis commented he was not aware of the fireworks problem, but will relay <br />Ms. Evans' concerns to the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />6. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on 111tergovenunental Agencies <br /> <br />1. Mayor Young reported she attended an Energy Summit in Santa Clara with one of the <br />FERC commissioners, and received some interesting and valuable infonnation which <br />she will summarize and provide to the Council. <br /> <br />2. Council Member Santos reported that on November 6, 2002 he attended the League of <br />California Cities legislative conference in Sacramento along with City Manager <br />Jennanis and Community Relations Manager Kathy Omelas. Council Member <br />Santos mentioned bills related to land use, as well as budget concerns at the State <br />level, which will be o[paIticular interest and concern to the Council. <br /> <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br />1. City and San Leandro UnifIed School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />November 7, 2002. Accepted as Submitted. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine noted ajoint meeting of the City Council and San Leandro <br />School Board is planned for January, and asked Council Members to provide input to <br />the Mayor for her use in developing the agenda with the Board president. Some of the <br />topics proposed at the Liaison Committee's November meeting were: update on the <br />San Leandro High School turnout, update on the Aquatics, update on the Burrell <br />Field, update on the library, aIld discussion of joint maintenance. There was also <br />some discussion regarding the issue of site trades and bond funding issues. Mayor <br />Young noted it was an extensive list of topics for one meeting, and suggested Council <br />Members give her some feedback regarding which o[ the issues they would like to <br />have on the agenda. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Glaze asked about the status of outstanding issues (ex: Bonaire Park, <br />Madison School, gate problems, Toyon Park, John Muir weed patch).
