(2947) <br /> <br />The City Council approved $10,000 in federal HOME Funds to provide rent <br />subsidies for homeless and transitional clients of the Alameda County "Linkages" <br />Program and authorized the City Manager to execute a Participating Public <br />.Jurisdiction Agreement (PPJ) between Alameda County and the cities of Fremont, <br />Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Leandro. <br /> <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Public Comments on New Business items are permitted if a Speaker Card is submitted before <br />the staff presentation is completed. Each speaker will be allowed 3 minutes for comments. <br /> <br />Items removed from the Consent Calendar: <br /> <br />7.BResolution No. 2002-161, resolution approving a Contractual Services Agreement with <br />Architectural Resources Group (ARG) related to updating the Historic Preservation <br />Inventory and revising code sections related to historic preservation (provides for the <br />survey of historic structures that will allow new buildings to be added to the Historic <br />Structures Inventory and to strengthen the Municipal and Zoning Codes as they relate to <br />historic preservation). Cost: $75,000. Funding: Library General Fund and City <br />Manager's Contingency Account. (2944) <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Glaze asked how sites will be chosen for inclusion on the Inventory, and how <br />this action will relate to the amendments to the Historic Preservation Ordinance. <br />Conullunity Development Director Hanson Hom commented both the items brought up <br />by Vice-Mayor Glaze are included in the scope of work of the contract. The consultant <br />will work with the Library-Historical Commission to develop criteria and identify <br />additional sites to add to the Inventory list, and to review and recommend amendments to <br />the existing Historic Preservation Ordinance. Library Services Director Dave Bohne <br />added that if the Council approves the agreement tonight, the Library-Historical <br />Commission will meet next Tuesday with the consultant and tour both existing sites and <br />some proposed for addition to the Historical Preservation Inventory. <br /> <br />Mayor Young reported fonner Council Member JoAnn Lothrop is working on a program <br />with youth at Garfield Elementary School.
