<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council, <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Ageney, and <br />San Leandro Public Financing Authority Joint Meeting - October 15, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />Muir Middle School in an eft(xt to raise $100,000 for the children of the victims of <br />the September 11111 attacks. <br /> <br />F. Jack Schachter, 655 Beatrice Street, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />Caltrans l-ggO Southbound OIT-Ramp Project and said Caltrans presenled two <br />options at a meeting held for the community on September 25. He urged the City <br />Council to draft a letter of rcsolulion to CaItrans indicating lhe community prefers <br />Caltrans' Option 2. <br /> <br />Mayor Young stated she asked CaItrans to conduct an addilional community <br />meeting. <br /> <br />G. Darlene Evans, 361 Bristol Boulevard, addresscd the City Council regarding <br />Building Department inspection enforcemcnt of rooling projects, comlllcnls by a <br />San Leandro Police Ortlcer, and the way real estate issues are handled in San <br />Leandro. <br /> <br />6. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT AND COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis indicaled Mr. Kessler's "No Room for Racism" item has been referred 10 <br />the City Council Human Relations Committee fl)r review and the City will be looking <br />at a broader program to supporl cultural diversity throughout the community. <br /> <br />Mr. Jennanis also indicated a Work Session is tentatively scheduled in December to <br />talk about the Downtown Plan. lIe added the concerns expressed regarding the ease of <br />exit lI'om the shopping center and the ideas which carne from the Joint Facilities <br />Committee/Economic Development and Redevelopment Committee walking tour of lhe <br />downtown area will be discussed. <br /> <br />Mr. Jermanis concluded by staling he will check into concerns expressed by Darlene <br />Evans regarding her roof inspection. <br /> <br />The City Council recessed from 8:55 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. <br /> <br />7. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />1. Council Member Grant reported on her attendance at an Associated Community <br />Action Program (ACAP) meeting. She reported ACAP allotted $50,000 to an <br />organization called MTMA, a manufacturing/machinists organization, few job <br />training and placement. With the change in the economy, they were not able 10 <br />get the program up and running so they had to reallocate the $50,000; $7,500 <br />went to the Davis Street community Cenler to create a job or placemenl of at <br />
