<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency J oint Meeting - December 17, 2001 <br /> <br />Page 12 <br /> <br />Edward Schilling, Assistant City Manager, gave the City Council an overview of <br />the need for redistricting and an overview ofthe project. <br /> <br />Beth Greene, Project Planner, presented to the City Council three options for <br />redistricting that are based on the criteria set by the Rules Committee. <br /> <br />Public Comments: <br /> <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 LaVerne Drive, addressed the City Council in opposition <br />to the proposed redistricting. <br /> <br />A lengthy City Council discussion ensued regarding how to best realign the <br />districts and agreeing that the Council Members need more information about the <br />census tracts. <br /> <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br /> <br />Minute Order No. 2001-98, Matter of Discussion of Redistricting of City <br />Council Districts to Correspond to 2000 Census Population Data.(l406/1453) <br /> <br />The City Council directed staff to schedule the matter of Redistricting of <br />City Council Districts to Correspond to 2000 Census Population Data for <br />a City Council Work Session. <br /> <br />N 0 Vote <br /> <br />G, Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br /> <br />The City Attorney reported the following City Council Closed Session <br />actions: <br /> <br />(1) Minute Order No. 2001-99, Matter of Closed Session Item 3.B, Regarding <br />the Possible Purchase of Property at 322 and 324 W. Estudillo Avenue. <br /> <br />The City Council, in Closed Session, took action to authorize staff to <br />purchase the property at 322 and 324 W. Estudillo Avenue for $480,000. <br /> <br />(2) Minute Order No. 2001-100, Matter of Closed Session Item 3.C, <br />Regarding Public Employee Performance Evaluation, City Manager. <br />(1502) <br /> <br />The City Council, in Closed Session, took action to extend the City <br />Manager's contract for three (3) months to March 31, 2002, under the <br />original Terms and Conditions. <br />
