Accept Davis Lighting 2 March 5, 2007 Current City Council Policy . The project complements other proposed downtown improvements, such as the street and pedestrian improvements along West Estudillo Avenue and the Washington Plaza Corridor . Enhanced pedestrian and vehicular access to the downtown was identified as of major importance in the 2004-2009 Implementation Plan for the Plaza Redevelopment Project Area Previous City Council Action(s) . On June 16,2003 by Resolution No. 2003-132, the City Council approved the subject project as part of the CIP budget . On November 3, 2003 by Resolution No. 2003-224, the City Council approved a contractual services agreement with Winzler and Kelly Consulting Engineers for the preparation of construction documents . On July 18, 2005 by Resolution No. 2005-111, the City Council approved the plans and specifications and the call for bids for the subject project · On September 5, 2005 by Resolution No. 2005-132, the City Council awarded the construction contract to St. Francis Electric City Council Committee Review and Action . Lighting fixtures were selected through a Facilities Committee review process . The Facilities Committee received input on the selected design from former Councilmember Nardine and former Councilmember Glaze based on site visits of historical districts in other communities Applicable General Plan Policy · Complies with the General Plan Policy Focus for Urban Design Improvements Permits and/or Variances Granted . Encroachment permit obtained from Caltrans for work in its right-of-way · Permit approvals obtain from the City of San Leandro Building Department Environmental Review .
