Relocation Impact

Several sources of information were utilized to collect the following information on the
project area and project occupants. The primary resource was personal interviews with motel
occupants. Additional information was gathered through interviews with Agency staff, the
property owner and the property manager to determine general household characteristics.

All interviews were conducted on a voluntary basis. Information related to household
size and income was requested and utilized in the analysis of the project impact and cost.
However, due to the nature of this Study, no attempt has been made to \€rify the accuracy of the
information disclosed. Household size and income will be verified prior to displacement.

~ect Areal

The Islander Motel Lodge is located at 2398 East 14th Street in the City of San Leandro. The
motel is situated less than one mile from a supermarket, other convenience stores and restaurants.
The motel is within two miles of local schools, public libraries, and City Hall. The households can
conveniently access Interstates 880 and 580. Public bus service is easily accessible along East 14th
Street.

IMote'Occupantsl

There are an estimated 36 people living at the motel that claim it as theirprimary
residence. These 36 people rent 18 rooms. Based upon occupant interviews and statistical
assumptions (as outlined on page 6 of this Study), 26 of the occupants are adults between the
ages of 18 and 62 years, 7 of the occupants are less than 18 years of age, and three occupants
are older than 62 years of age.

The school-aged children attend the local elementary and secondary schools. Several
occupants stated that they intend to relocate within the immediate area so that their children can
remain in the same schools.

Households.
